The Support-A-Walk is our most important annual fundraiser. We rely on YOUR donations to sustain our free breast and ovarian cancer support services. We do NOT receive funds from: Relay for Life, the Avon Walk, Making Strides, Susan G. Komen, or any other national cancer groups.

We ask anyone who attends the Walk to donate, whatever amount they can. EVERY donation makes a difference!


Fundraising and donating are simple, no matter where you are!

Even if you can’t attend the Walk, you can participate by supporting us with donations.

How can I raise funds online?

Online fundraising is simple and secure! Just follow these easy steps to get started:

  1. Create your own online fundraising page here.
  2. Make a donation to your own page.
  3. Ask family and friends to donate to your page.

How can I ask friends and family to donate to my fundraising page?

There are several ways to ask people to donate to your fundraising page:

Send emails to everyone you know: Write a personal note. Include the URL to your page and tell them to click on it to donate. (The URL is the address at the top of your page and looks like this: https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/your-page-name/walk2017.)

Send your page from Firstgiving: Sign in to your Firstgiving account, then select “Edit.” You’ll see an option “Send your page via email.” You can then send emails directly from your Firstgiving account.

Share on Social Media: Ask your Facebook and Twitter friends to donate. Sign in to your Firstgiving account, then select “Edit.” You’ll see options to post to Facebook and Twitter.

Can I raise funds without using the computer?

Yes! You can raise funds “offline” by asking people to donate via cash or check. Print this Collection Form to keep track of the donations you collect. Send or bring your donations with the form to our office.

Can I raise funds both online and offline?

Yes! If you have an online fundraising page, any cash or checks you collect can be added your total.

How do I raise funds as part of a Team?

 I don’t want to fundraise. Can I just make a donation?

Yes! You can simply donate to the Walk, without fundraising:

Supporting one of our Fundraisers or Teams is a great way to help!

How much do I need to donate to earn a Walk Tee-Shirt?

Turn in $50 in donations before the day of the Walk to earn a Walk tee-shirt, $25 for each additional shirt.

Tee-shirts must be picked up at our office before the day of the Walk. View our office hours and directions.

What can I do to increase my contribution?

Matching Gifts: Many employers will match contributions made by their employees. This can double or even triple your donation! Check here to see if your employer has a Matching Gift Program. Support Connection is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit.

Be a Ray of Hope Champion: Meet special fundraising goals before the day of the Walk and earn Ray of Hope Status. Learn how you can be a Champion!

Hold a Fundraising Event. The first three letters of fundraising are FUN! Hold a fun event: tag sale, car wash, bake sale, lemonade stand, party – the possibilities are endless!

Tribute Message Signs: Tribute Messages are 20″ X 12″ signs we’ll display at the Walk for thousands to see. They can celebrate or remember a loved one, or share a message of support from an individual or business. View a sample sign. Purchase a sign or ask others to do so. Only $50 per sign.
