Tips for Online Fundraisers

As the Walk gets closer, it’s time to be direct. Send out reminders and spread the word!

Even when people really want to help, it’s easy for them to forget. They may need a reminder! Here are some tips:

The power of twenty.

Ask 20 people to donate $20 each, and you’ll quickly raise $400!

Let everyone know their donation makes a difference. Tell them why this is important to you, what drives you to raise funds.

Send emails to everyone in your address book.

Email everyone on your contact list. In your email, tell people why you’re fundraising.

Include the URL of your fundraising page in your email. When people receive your email, they’ll click the link, see your page, and donate.

Share on social media. There are 2 ways to do this:

  • Log in to your account at FrontStream. On the top of your account page, you’ll see icons for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • While viewing your own fundraising page, use the “Share” button on the left side to share to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Add a signature to all of your emails

In your outgoing emails, under your name, add a “signature” line asking for donations. Example: “I’m raising funds for breast and ovarian cancer support – please donate!” Include the URL to your fundraising page.

Now, every time you send an email for any reason, the recipient will see your message. One fundraiser exceeded her goal with this simple step!

I started a fundraising page but now I can’t find it.

Search for your fundraising page here.

I don’t know what a “URL” is.

The URL is the address at the top of your fundraising page and looks like this: https://secure.frontstream.com/support-a-walk2021/participant/yourname. Include this URL in your emails. When the recipient clicks on it, your page will open up for them.

What can I do to increase my contribution?

Take advantage of Matching Gifts. Many companies will match contributions made by their employees. This can double or even triple your donation! Ask your employer if they have a Matching Gift program. Support Connection is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit.
