Tips for Online Fundraisers

As the Walk gets closer, it’s important to keep the momentum going! Here are some tips to help boost your fundraising:

Keep it simple.

Send an email from your own email account (Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) asking friends and family to donate. Make sure to include the URL of your fundraising page, so they can click the link, see your page, and donate.

Keep your email short and simple! Need ideas on what to say? Here’s a sample.

Tell a story.

Personalize your fundraising page with a photo and a little bit about why you’re passionate about our cause. Your page will speak for itself. You can also tell your story in the emails you send.

Share on social media.

Share your page on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.  A few friendly reminders will encourage people to join your efforts.

There are two different ways to do this:

  • Log in to your account at FrontStream. On the top of your account page, you’ll see icons for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • While viewing your own fundraising page, use the “Share” button on the left side to share to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Use your email signature.

Add a message  to your email signature. It’s a simple way to remind people!

Write a simple message, such as “I’m raising funds for breast and ovarian cancer support. Please donate!” Include your fundraising page URL.

Now, every email you send reminds people to give.

Let people see and hear what the Walk is all about and why it’s important by sharing our videos.

I started a fundraising page but now I can’t find it.

Search for your fundraising page here.

I don’t know what a “URL” is.

The URL is the address at the top of your fundraising page and looks like this: https://secure.frontstream.com/support-a-walk2021/participant/yourname. Include this URL in your emails. When the recipient clicks on it, your page will open up for them.

What can I do to increase my contribution?

Take advantage of Matching Gifts. many companies will match contributions made by their employees. This can double or even triple your donation! Ask your employer if they have a Matching Gift program. Support Connection is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit.
