Tips for online fundraisers

This is the FINAL week before our Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer on October 6, 2024. So, we’ve got some important last-minute fundraising tips for you.

Remember:

  • We do not receive funds from any national cancer organizations. We need your support.
  • Your page will accept donations even after the Walk, through the end of this year. Don’t stop until you reach your fundraising goal!

This is what your fundraising enables us to offer:

  • Personalized support and information from the Peer Counselors on our staff, who are cancer survivors.
  • Monthly support groups where women share and help one another.
  • Wellness programs to enhance healing and well-being.
  • Social activities where women spend time with others who understand.
  • Educational programs and webinars where experts offer up-to-the-minute info on cancer treatment and health.
  • Open Discussions, which address specific topics pertaining to living with cancer, including Men’s Groups, as we know that cancer is a family affair.
  • Support and information for family members and friends.
  • Nationwide support on a year-round basis through toll-free telephone, email and virtual programs.

Can’t find your fundraising page?

Log in in to your Network For Good account here. Once you’re logged in, click “My Account” at the top of the page. Your fundraising page will be displayed in your account.

Or, you can go to our 2024 Walk fundraising home page then scroll down to the bottom to view all the people raising funds for our Walk. Names will be listed alphabetically.

Send emails to everyone you know.

Email everyone in your address book and ask them to donate. In your email, tell people why you’re fundraising. Not sure what to say? Look at our sample email.

Include the URL of your fundraising page in your email. (The URL is the address at the top of your page. It starts with https://supportconnection.networkforgood.com/projects…) When people receive your email, they’ll click the link, see your page, and donate.

Share on Social Media

Use social media to ask your friends to donate. To share your fundraising page on social media:

  • View your fundraising page.
  • On the left, you’ll see icons for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Click these icons to share your page.

Collect cash and/or checks

Send or bring them to our office: Support Connection, 40 Triangle Center, Suite 100, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. Use our Collection Form to keep track. You can list them as OFFLINE donations on your page. If we receive donations in our office that are not yet listed, we’ll add them for you.

Increase your contribution with Matching Gifts

Many companies will match contributions made by their employees. This can double or even triple your donation! Ask your employer if they have a Matching Gift program. Support Connection is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit.
