Support Connection, Inc., is proud to unveil our newly-redesigned logo.
The logo update was planned as part of our year-long 20th anniversary celebration. Since Support Connection was founded in 1996, we have helped thousands of women and families cope with the challenges that result from a breast or ovarian cancer diagnosis.
The new logo was carefully designed to reflect Support Connection’s longtime mission and purpose while modernizing the look. It maintains key visual elements from our previous logo, especially our iconic and widely recognized “heart and hands” image.
Katherine Quinn, Support Connection’s founding Executive Director, says “Our original logo was created twenty years ago by the small group of dedicated individuals who came together to help establish Support Connection.
We chose the heart and hands to represent caring and connection, incorporating pink for breast cancer and teal for ovarian cancer. When we decided to revise the logo this year, our goal was to remain true to our original vision while moving forward with an up-to-date look. We are thrilled with the outcome.”
The logo redesign was completed by Kelly Duke McKinley, Co-Principal and Creative Director of Pak Creative, an award winning, husband and wife graphic design team. For more than 15 years, Pak Creative has specialized in everything graphic design, with clients from the corporate level to the not-for-profit level, and everyone in between. In 2016, Pak Creative received the Chairman’s Award from the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce in recognition of their exemplary work on behalf of the Chamber.
Kelly has extensive experience in editorial design, corporate design and working within turn key studios. Prior to co-founding Pak Creative, Kelly’s experience included work for a number of prominent corporations, holding roles as designer, art director and creative director. She has won three American Graphic Design Awards as well as a SABRE Award (Superior Achievement in Branding and Reputation). To learn more and see a portfolio, visit www.pakcreative.com.
The new logo was added right away to our website. Going forward, it will be added to all of our materials, including tee-shirts and other items for our Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer, which will be held this year on Sun., Oct. 2, 2016 at FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights, NY.
The Support-A-Walk is held to bring attention to the needs of people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. It is Support Connection’s most important fundraiser each year. Close to 90% of all funds raised go directly to fund their free year-round breast and ovarian cancer support services.
