Celebrate Life Day
Each year, Support Connection presents “Celebrate Life Day,” to honor cancer survivors for their strength and courage, and to recognize the contributions of families, friends and other caregivers.
Celebrate Life Day is an uplifting celebration that includes musical entertainment, inspirational speakers, and the pleasure of good company and good food. It is held on the same day as National Cancer Survivors Day, an annual worldwide celebration of life held in hundreds of communities throughout the United States, Canada and other participating countries.
Our Annual Celebrate Life Day is dedicated to Nancy Heller. Nancy is one of Support Connection’s co-founders, served as Board President, and is one of our staunchest supporters. A breast cancer survivor for more than 30 years, Nancy believes in celebrating life and encourages all to live every day to its fullest. By dedicating this day to her each year, we pay tribute to her continual inspiration to us all.
Important Update: Celebrate Life Day
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be able to gather in-person for Celebrate Life Day in 2021.
But even though we can’t be together physically on National Cancer Survivors Day, we will be with you in spirit! We will celebrate you on that day and every day. You are always in our thoughts; the strength and courage of you and those who love you is always recognized.
However: Celebrate Life Day WILL be back in 2022! Please mark your calendars now for June 5, 2022, when we’ll come together at Travelers Rest for a much needed, well deserved and uplifting celebration.
And always remember: We are here for you! Our services continue to be available even during this national health crisis. Call our counselors toll-free at 800-532-4290. Or send them an email using this link.
Celebrate Life Day 2019
On June 2, 2019, more than 120 cancer survivors, caregivers, friends and family gathered for lunch at Travelers Rest for Support Connection’s Annual Celebrate Life Day. It was a wonderful celebration.
Guests enjoyed music by award-winning singer/songwriter Steve Chizmadia. Guests were also treated to inspirational words from our speaker Geri Moran, a 30 year breast cancer survivor. Geri has been an ardent supporter of Support Connection since its early years and was very happy to be able to celebrate life with everyone at our event.
Support Connection is grateful to Travelers Rest and their staff for their wonderful hospitality. We also greatly appreciate everyone who helped make this day a very special celebration of life by providing extraordinary hand-made items or by volunteering their time to make the day a success.
