President of Support Connection’s Board of Directors
Support Connection is expanding its Board of Directors and we are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated volunteers to join our Board! Being a Board Member is a fulfilling and rewarding experience. It is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by breast, ovarian and gynecological cancer.
What is the role of the Board of Directors?
Our Board of Directors are dedicated volunteers who devote their time and talents to help Support Connection fulfill its mission. In addition to providing governance for the organization, the Board works to raise funds, pursue resources and assist with community outreach. These efforts are greatly appreciated and help sustain and enhance Support Connection’s free cancer support services.
Who makes up the Board?
The common denominator for all Board Members is a strong belief in Support Connection’s mission. Board Members include:
- Cancer survivors
- Caregivers, family members or friends
- Business owners, medical or other professionals
- Community members
Who should apply to join the Board?
Anyone with a passion for our mission, who is ready to make a serious commitment, is a potential Board Member. Also, at this time, we are in need of individuals with backgrounds in the following areas:
- Legal
- Fundraising and/or Marketing
- Prior Board service with another organization
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector or volunteering in the community

What is the time commitment for Board Members?
The Board meets 4-6 times per year, in the evenings for 2 hours. Meetings are held by ZOOM, so Board Members can live anyplace in the country. In addition, on average, Board Members dedicate an additional 3-6 hours per month to fulfill Board Member duties.
