Support Connection is pleased to announce it was recently awarded a $7,500 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation’s Community Connection Grant Program.
The grant will be used to help fund Support Connection’s free counseling, support groups, educational programs, and other services for those dealing with breast and ovarian cancer. Executive Director Katherine Quinn says: “We are extremely grateful to Wells Fargo for their support. We rely on grants and contributions to fulfill our mission. This funding will have a positive impact on many lives.”
Under the Community Connections program, Wells Fargo team members are able to nominate a nonprofit organization that has had a positive impact in their local community. They may include organizations serving underprivileged youth, community development or other public interests. Support Connection was nominated by Gary Wawrzycki, manager of the Wells Fargo branch in Shrub Oak, NY,
“Our local branches see which nonprofits are out in the community making a difference every day,” said Wells Fargo District Manager Sandra Menke. “We use this as an opportunity to celebrate and say thank you to Support Connection and its dedicated leaders for all of the value they have provided to our community over the past year. “
“Many of our Wells Fargo team members also volunteer or are impacted by Support Connection in some way,” said Menke. “We’re proud to help Support Connection continue their work in the communities where we live and work whenever we can.”
