I was diagnosed with Stage IIIc ovarian cancer the day after Memorial Day in 1987, 27 years ago. I was 41 then and I am 68 now. When I was diagnosed, our boys were 9 and 14. Now, John is 36 and Brian will soon be 42.
There was no internet and Support Connection didn’t exist when I was in treatment over 20 years ago. I live in the mid-west but I have recently listened to some of Support Connection’s teleconference lectures on ovarian cancer.
I had two surgeries and 2 ½ years of chemotherapy but I have needed no treatment for 20 years. My mission is to give hope to those who are going through what I have experienced.
