ANNUAL SUPPORT-A-WALK ~ SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2017
The Importance of Teams
Forming or joining a Team is one of the best ways to help make the Support-A-Walk a success!
A Team is a group of people who decide to work together to raise funds for the Support-A-Walk. They choose a Team name, then everyone on the Team seeks donations for the Team.
A Team can have as many members as you’d like. Invite family, friends, co-workers to join you. You don’t even have to be at the Walk to be part of a Team.

Have Fun With Your Team!
Teams can be fun! On the day of the Walk, Teams can bring handmade signs or banners to carry. Before they walk, they can get a free photo taken at the Team Photo Tent (open until the Walk begins at 10 am). They can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park after they walk.
Team members can also look for unique and fun ways to raise funds and spread awareness, including fundraising events like bake sales and tag sales.
Last year, the Team from Northern Westchester Hospital held a sale of baked goods and breast cancer awareness items. They raised over $1,300 for their Team, and had fun in the process!
Team Spirit Awards
We love our Teams! To recognize them for all they do, we present the following Team Spirit Awards:
- Top 3 Teams for amount of money raised
- Top 3 Teams for number of donors
- Most Creative Team Banner or Sign
To enter the Team Banner contest, bring your banner to the Team Photo tent the morning of the Walk. The following week, photos will be judged and the winner will be announced.
Team Captains can also earn Ray of Hope Champion status by meeting special fundraising goals.
